The Roseate Villa Bath *****
This weekend you’ll be heading to Bath for a city break that’s going to suit you to a T. Or should we say tea? After dropping your bags in a room with views of Henrietta Park, you’ll soak up the feeling of 24 hours on your terms with a leisurely afternoon tea. You’ll take your time spreading jam on home-baked scones, pouring yourself cuppa after cuppa, and settle into some unadulterated you-time. From there, it’s completely up to you: whether you head to the thermal spa to unwind or get amongst all the history of the ancient Roman baths, you’ll understand why folk of the past flocked to this city for that little bit of calm.
What to expect:
🚂 Hop on the train, grab a window seat and soak up the feeling of a change in scenery without a plane-ride.
🧳 Drop your bags in your cosy room and take in views of the six acres of flowers and leafy green scenery that call Henrietta Park their home.
🍰 Take in all the bespoke features of the boutique hotel as you head to afternoon tea in the sunny dining room or, if you’re feeling brave, outside on the terrace.
☕ Nibble on sweet treats made by an in-house baker and leisurely pour yourself cuppa upon cuppa as you begin to understand why people from all over flocked to Bath for that little bit of calm.
🍸 Get rid of any worries that a cuppa can’t sort with a trip to Bath’s thermal spa: there’s a two hour session at the toasty open-air rooftop pool with your name on it (add-on)
📺 Head back to the room, climb under a squishy duvet and pour you and your plus one a glass of bubbly (add-on)
🍳 Wake up well-rested and ready for freshly-baked bread and all the kinds of breakfast treats your stomach is always growling for.
Any pooches that are being brought along for the ride are in for a treat: they’ll get their very own “woof box” complete with doggy nibbles and toys. And if they fancy making friends they can hang out with Muttley, the Roseate Villa’s resident dog.
